To date more than 116,000 animals, fungi and plants have been assessed for The IUCN Red List of Threatened SpeciesTM. This is an incredible achievement. However, our work is nowhere near complete.

Our goal is to have 160,000 assessed species on The IUCN Red List by 2020 to make the IUCN Red List a more complete 'Barometer of Life'.

Making The IUCN Red List a 'Barometer of Life'

Meeting this goal will provide the most up-to-date indication of the health of the world’s biodiversity to guide critical conservation action. This is only achievable with support from people like you.

Will you help us?
