The IUCN North Africa Members Forum took place from 5 to 7 October 2011 in the Hotel Ibis Moussafir in Rabat, Morocco.
Organised by the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation and the Haut Commissariat aux Eaux et Forêts et à la Lutte Contre la Désertification (HCEFLCD in French) in Morocco, the purpose of the Forum is to discuss with IUCN Members and partners the future IUCN programme for North Africa according to the provisional 2013-2016 IUCN Global Programme in an effort to deliver a programme relevant to the regional concerns and that promotes wider cooperation in the Mediterranean.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity to prepare for an effective North African participation in the next World Conservation Congress to be held in Jeju, South Korea, from 6 to 15 September 2012.
