Luc Bas, Director of IUCN EURO focused on the precarious status of the natural world and the measures needed to safeguard this. Based on this global concern, he gave his view on ecosystem-based approaches to adaptation and nature-based solutions that can be considered as innovative pathways for developing and implementing new adaptation technologies. He illustrated this with examples from the practice of climate change adaptation actions.
