IUCN is coordinating the work of the Western Gray Whales Advisory Panel, a panel of independent scientists who advises Sakhalin Energy, an oil and gas company, on how the company can minimize the risks to the whales and their habitat associated with its operations. More than 10 years of collaborative work has increased knowledge of the whales and produced a wealth of recommendations to follow during seismic surveys and other industry related work. This information is made public for the benefit of the whales' conservation in these dedicated pages.
