Yolanda Kakabadse
Yolanda Kakabadse is an Ecuadorian environmentalist and Chair of the Rio Doce Panel. She was President of IUCN from 1996 to 2004, Ecuador’s Minister of the Environment from 1998 to 2000, and President of WWF International from 2010 to 2017. She is also founder of Fundación Futuro Latinoamericano. Ms Kakabadse received the Golden Ark Order (1991), the Zayed Prize (2001), the UN Environment Programme’s Global 500 Award (1992), and a Doctor of Science (ScD) honoris causa from the University of East Anglia (2008), among other honours.
