Bangladesh & India
Of all Tiger Conservation Landscapes, it is in the Sundarbans that human death by tigers is at its highest. The conflicts are increasing as the human populations rise. As the largest mangrove in the world, listed under both the World Heritage and the Ramsar conventions, the Sundarbans is home to an estimated 190 tigers.
The project led by Wildlife Trust of India and WildTeam is providing infrastructure and material to teams of trained people able to respond to conflicts situations. It also provides the local communities with sustainable income sources on both sides of the border.
