Elizabeth L. Bennett
Elizabeth Bennett is Vice President for Species Conservation at the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), an IUCN Member organisation. She received her PhD from Cambridge University for primate research in Peninsular Malaysia. After working in Sarawak for the next 18 years, she became Director of the Hunting and Wildlife Trade Program at WCS. She currently oversees WCS’s species conservation programs globally. With more than 130 publications, Elizabeth has been recognised with the Golden Ark award by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands and as a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, among other honors. She is a long-term member of the IUCN Species Survival Commission (SSC) Primate Specialist Group and of the group’s Section on Great Apes.
