In recent years, from the IUCN Regional Office for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, our investigations and field work has generated knowledge on issues such as protected areas, climate change adaptation and forest landscapes. It has also provided guidelines, case studies and protocols for strengthening the role of local communities and indigenous peoples in the management of protected areas.
