The Rio Doce Panel is an Independent Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel (ISTAP) that will provide advice on the environmental and social restoration underway in the Rio Doce watershed in Brazil
The Rio Doce Panel was constituted in 2017 as an Independent Scientific Technical Advisory Panel (ISTAP), a valuable tool to address controversial conservation and development issues with the aim of producing scientifically-robust and equitable solutions.
Comprised of international and national experts, who bring diverse technical skills, academic qualifications, and local knowledge, the RDP has the critical role to produce recommendations directed to the Renova Foundation about the recovery efforts in the Rio Doce basin after the Fundão Dam failure.
