At the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Paris, IUCN highlighted the role of nature in providing practical solutions in tackling climate change and adapting to its impacts.
IUCN events
In addition to following the official negotiations, and briefing and supporting negotiators in advancing its key policy messages, IUCN’s engagement in Paris focused on generating increased awareness of its various climate-related work across different thematic areas, and particularly in advancing nature-based solutions to climate change.
To this end, IUCN hosted over 40 events in its dedicated Nature-based Solutions Pavilion in the official Conference Center and co-organised together with its French Members and partners 60+ events in the France-IUCN Partnership Pavilion in the Climate Generations Space.
