Inclusive conservation solutions for protected areas in a multifunctional landscape - the Dutch case (May 2020)
This webinar was focused on the ENVISION Project and on the concept of Inclusive Conservation. Inclusive conservation is an emerging framework that recognises the variety of connections people make with natural areas and the landscapes in which they live, and opens up a dialogue across the various stakeholders of a protected area. The approach holds promise to transform different visions into management strategies and in doing so informs a set of policies and practices for sustainable use of natural resources. The participants were introduced to a PANORAMA solution case study that demonstrates inclusive conservation in action: the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park and the Kromme Rijn region, a multifunctional landscape centrally located in the Netherlands.

Solutions from European Protected Areas (May 2018)
As a celebration of the European Day of Parks, EUROPARC, PANORAMA Solutions for a Healthy Planet and IUCN co-organised a webinar to showcase best practices from European Protected Areas. The solutions came from the edges of Europe (Azores-Portugal and Armenia), and showed us how nature conservation objectives can be better pursued with the cooperation and engagement of local communities and governmental bodies.

Solutions from natural World Heritage sites (April 2018)
IUCN marked World Heritage Day with a PANORAMA webinar focussing on nature’s iconic treasures. Natural World Heritage sites are internationally recognised as the planet’s most significant protected areas, yet they face increasing threats, as shown by the IUCN World Heritage Outlook 2 launched recently. These sites have the power to mobilise action and often pioneer management solutions contributing to sustainable development needs. Presenters discussed some of the challenges they face and positive approaches they developed to protect natural World Heritage sites.
Speakers include Tim Badman (Director, World Heritage Programme, IUCN), Dr. Susan Otuokon (Executive Director, Jamaica Conservation and Development Trust) - Blue and John Crow Mountains National Park, Jamaica, Gerold Lüerßen (Luerssen - Deputy Executive Secretary, Trilateral Monitoring and Assessment) - Wadden Sea World Heritage, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands / Banc d'Arguin National Park, Mauritania, and Cheryl Sanchez (Aldabra Science Coordinator, Seychelles Islands Foundation) - Aldabra Atoll, Seychelles. The webinar was co-hosted by the IUCN Global Protected Areas Programme and IUCN World Heritage Programme.

A profound connection with nature is made at an early age, therefore it is crucial to foster that connection in children and youth. At the same time, emerging young conservation leaders are creating positive impacts in many protected areas around the world, working in partnership with park agencies, communities and other groups. Learn more about young people being engaged in protected areas through this webinar, which showcases three inspiring solutions from the PANORAMA case study portfolio.

The tourism business plays a major role in sustaining the global network of protected areas. At the same time, half of all international travellers visit a protected area during their trip. However, the advocates of natural spaces often are concerned about the potential impacts of unsustainable tourism - but when done right, tourism and conservation can greatly benefit from each other.
Presenters from a range of countries introduced their PANORAMA case studies in the webinars, explaining what made them successful and discussed with the audience. The webinars were co-hosted by the IUCN Global Protected Areas Programme and the WCPA Tourism Specialist Group.
